  7. Bournemouth interested in Chelsea's Kepapublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 23 August

    BBC Sport football news reporter

Bournemouth are weighing up a loan move for exiled Chelseagoalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at StamfordBridge and training with the 'loan group' under loan technical coach CarloCudicini.

The move is internally considered 'complicated' at the SouthCoast club as the Spain international's high wages - estimated to be around£200,000-a-week - present a problem in negotiations.

Chelsea would also expect Kepa, who remains the world's mostexpensive ever goalkeeper after joining the club for £72million in 2018, toextend his contract by at least a year to accept a loan move and that extensionwould come with a wage reduction.

Kepa is an option being considered alongside Arsenal’s AaronRamsdale as Bournemouth enter talks on multiple fronts to strengthen theiroptions for manager Andoni Iraola.

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is set to be out of action for a short period because of a hamstring injury he picked up during Friday's training session.

In a statement the club said: "After the tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the thin plantar muscle of his right leg”.

It means Bellingham could be a doubt for England's Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on 7 September and Finland at Wembley three days later.

  10. O'Neil: Impossible to predict Chelsea's teampublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 23 August

Wolves v Chelsea (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Nick Mash*ter

O'Neil also concedes it is impossible to predict Chelsea's team but expects them to improve this season.

Pedro Neto is due to make the trip back to Molineux on Sunday after his £54m move to Stamford Bridge from Wolves earlier this month.

Including Neto, the Blues have made 11 signings this summer and have over 40 senior players, leaving O'Neil second guessing their starting XI.

"It’s impossible for me to sit here and pick a Chelsealine up," he said.

"You can see Chelsea are still in transition. Thatdoesn’t mean they can’t be successful with the amount of talent they have andthey have a top coach (Enzo Maresca).

"They have every right and chance of finishing very highup the league.

"They have signed a lot of good players. Signing good playersis helpful, I expect it to help them and expect them to be better thanlast season."

Wolves v Chelsea (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Nick Mash*ter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Boss Gary O'Neil has remained tight-lipped over Wolves' interest in Burnley's Dara O'Shea and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The Clarets are holding out for £15m for O'Shea, with Wolves currently offering £13m, while the centre-back is keen on a move to Molineux.

The Gunners want to sell Ramsdale this summer, while Wolves have offered an initial loan with an option to buy.

"I won’t discuss any player who has not already signed forWolves. Individual names and rumours, I’m not interested in," said O'Neil.

"We are workinghard to do some stuff which we think will help us. The important thing is, is thevaluation of the player correct for us? It'll be key for us in terms of whatwe can and can’t do in the next seven days.

"It’s more are the deals right, are the players right? We cando stuff, definitely, it just needs to fit properly for the team and club. I’venot heard any (budget) figure in any of my meetings and discussions."

  12. 'I want to dream and work hard to get it'published at 15:15 British Summer Time 23 August

    15:15 BST 23 August

Aston Villa v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Aston Villa

And finally from Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on the project of the club: "Sometimes I am telling the players that Aston Villa won the Champions League in 1982. It's one important date for Aston Villa as a club, and it helps to explain to players the history.

"The last history of Aston Villa is progressively getting better, but five years ago they were in the Championship. With the new project, with the history, with the new way we want to create here, it’s about trying to be contenders and be consistent.

"We have to think that we have to be in the top ten, we have to be in the top eight, we have to be in the top six and we have to try to be progressively stronger, getting in the top four like last year.

"This is the way we have to confirm it, like we did last year, being consistent. This is the message I want here; players being hungry to improve, hungry to get another level higher as a club and individually.

"To achieve the objectives we are facing, dreaming is very difficult, but I want to dream and work hard to get it. At the moment we are in a good way but there’s still a lot of work to do to continue being consistent like I want."

  13. 'We are looking forward to being there with our supporters'published at 15:09 British Summer Time 23 August

    15:09 BST 23 August

Aston Villa v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on their first home match of the season: "They are going to be very excited and we are looking forward to being there with our supporters, enjoying each moment. We are now playing three matches in August before starting to play in Europe after the break.

"We have to try to be consistent now and try to focus on those three matches, trying to be strong, to be competitive and focusing on the Premier League like the first target we have in our competition.”

On Emi Martinez's new contract: "We are very happy because Emiliano Martinez is very important. He's involved completely in this project.

"When I arrived here, I knew him before because we were working in Arsenal together. I knew his mentality and even now it’s stronger than before because he’s achieving individual objectives with his national team and here with Aston Villa.

"His extension is fantastic for us and very good for every supporter of Aston Villa, we can be proud of him."

  14. Team news - no fresh injuriespublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 23 August

    15:04 BST 23 August

Aston Villa v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery provided an update on team news for Saturday: "[Boubacar] Kamara is progressing a lot, I think now is the sixth month since he was injured and he had surgery.

"And, more or less, in a few weeks he will start training with us.

"Tyrone Mings is close to start doing something with the team, now he's working alone but he’s feeling very good.

"Other players, I think they are available.

"We don’t have more issues with injured players."

  15. Booing of Maresca's side after two matches shows scale of taskpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 23 August

There is a strange atmosphere at the start of Enzo Maresca's Chelsea reign as some supporters booed their team off at half-time against Servette at Stamford Bridge.

It was far from the full stadium but it was a sizeable and audible minority who also jeered the team in a marginally improved second half when midfielder Moises Caicedo played it back to goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

Chelsea fans already look like they may emulate sections of the Leicester City support and be critical of the patient, possession-based tactical approach favoured by the Italian, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.

When asked about the response at the interval, Maresca said: "I can understand but the important thing is to win the game. Clean sheet and we did nine changes."

Of course, the atmosphere is not helped by back-to-back trophyless seasons and continued suspicion in parts of the fanbase of the Boehly-Clearlake ownership.

But the second half also showed the simple way out of it - through winning.

  16. Maresca keen to build 'momentum'published at 14:54 British Summer Time 23 August

More from Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca before Sunday's game against Wolves: "All the places in the Premier League are very difficult to go and try to get points. But we are going to try, we are going to do our best. Hopefully we can start Sunday, get some points in the Premier League and from there build some momentum."

On Moises Caicedo's leadership of the team: "Reece [James] was not on the pitch, Enzo [Fernandez] was not on the pitch and Levi [Colwill] was not on the pitch, so I needed to find another one! Moi was already here last year, I think he has respect from his teammates, so he was captain tonight and he is one of the captains. I like all of them being in some way captain."

With the transfer window coming to an end: "It is better if we do not sign because we do not need to sign players just to sign players. If we sign players and they help us to improve, then for sure we need players. Otherwise, we are happy with the way we are."
