Havertz importance to this squad is growing game after game.
The former Bayern Leverkusen prodigy who was bought from Chelsea for a fee of £65million has been quite a divisive figure since his arrival to North London, often being misunderstood for his somewhat lackadaisical style of play it is however no doubt currently that his influence of in this Arsenal squad has been growing.
With fears being raised at the time about his inflated transfer fee, then him scoring only a penalty goal in his first seven matches did him no favours in his debut season. Nevertheless Arteta kept faith in him and played him on regardless till he finally found the perfect place where he would thrive, center forward.
This change half way through the campaign was a key reason he was able to make 21 goal contributions last season( 14 goals and 7 assists). I saw a stat recently that stated Havertz is the only player in 2024 to have both scored and assisted in five league games, this solidifies the claim that his influence in this Arsenal side is growing.
Aside from the goal scoring he also brings qualities that go under the radar most of the time in an Arsenal shirt, his clever running/movement is not talked about enough along with his versatility which was well documented last season with him showing glimpses of brilliance from the left 8 position however I still think his qualities are better suited at center forward.
‘We don’t need a No9, Havertz is our guy.’ said Declan Rice when asked whether we should move for a new center forward by Rio Ferdinand privately, as told to Football.London, that is pretty telling, given that Rice is in the best position to let us know just how good a player is from witnessing it first hand on a daily basis in training. Add to that his immaculate injury record then he could be an important piece of our title winning ambitions this campaign.
A seemingly timid player is finally coming out of his shell and dropping confidenct displays as our main center forward.
With him set to be our main center forward this campaign, what are the chances lf him having a 20+ goal campaign ?

Saw the stats yesterday at Arsenal FC site, he seems to be at the top of goal and assist tally in the last 15 PL matches. If he continues this way, which he has already showed a sign.

Yet another Just Arsenal rage-bait Hazard article, must be triple digits now 🥱 As soon as he’s injured or loses the form he realistically won’t keep up we’ll be slammed from every quarter for not having addressed the striker issue for several repeated transfer windows.

He showed overwhelmingly he isn’t cut out for midfield in so many ways, yet half our fanbase wanted to ignore this until even Arteta dragged him out after countless pitiful displays. No wonder other fans say we’re deluded

If Havertz gets a long-term injury, we would have no towering CF

That would be the case for many teams in the PL I think. That’s why I value a player’s availability so much. And Havertz is good with that.
Another good thing is, if he does get injured and needs a week off or so, we can rely on Jesus up front, without losing the aerial presence if we have Rice and Merino playing in the same match.

I have thought, and continue to think, that we need to bring in a striker. With respect to Havertz his best is 17 goals back in 2018-19 for Bayer Leverkusen. Since then, he’s not got past 13 league goals in a season. Now, that doesn’t mean he won’t have a very successful 2024-25 season and possibly increase on his season’s best.
However, Arsenal don’t seem to have any obvious alternatives in the squad – Jesus is a No9 in name but certainly not in goals and probably never will be now. Trossard’s best is 16 goals, but that was for mighty Lommel United in Belgium’s second division. To be fair, he got a respectable 13 for Arsenal last season.
Yes, there are goals across the squad as we know and are reminded of in these discussions. We’re talking about a specialist here though, which is what strikers are (or supposed to be – it seems to have applied to Arsenal’s past greats anyway).
With the sale of Eddie to Forest likely (as likely as it’s ever going to be, I suspect) I suggest that Arsenal need to bring someone in. Saying it and getting a suitable player in the week or so left is a hard push though – but that’s down to Arsenal. The window did open on 14 June after all. Leaving business until this late is always risky, or riskier.

Not many of us, knows or plays the game at the highest level as the £100 millon man, who am i to rubbish the Englishman claim.
Arsenal don’t need another number nine, maybe a winger with an obligation to buy on transfer deadline day wouldn’t hurt

Certainly Havertz is improving by the game and I suppose he will have a major role to play if Arsenal are to win the PL this season. Apart from scoring goals and creating, his ability to draw defenders allows our other attackers to use the space and score.

Rice is smoking what beyond his capacity how on Earth will he say Kai is there No9 well that’s what arteta want them to say antics of not signing a striker. How I wish arteta change his mind on forward no9 n get me Viktor gyokeres am sure of 30 to 35goals in league alone
